Report on FOTH Qualifier (April 13th 2014)

Well done for third place in the Challenge 90 FOTH held at Llanymynech on April 13th.

Qualifier last Sunday for Sally Vickers, Victoria Hurford, Sally Filby and Lucy Filby – and congrats to Victoria for her fourth individual place in her section. Hannah Mulliner and Catriona Henderson enjoyed their individual rounds –Hannah a touch speedy (obviously making up for a slow and disastrous journey (blowout)) – Vicky Tongue was an ace helper – huge thanks to her – and many thanks to Juliet who took over as chef d’equipe in Libby’s absence – and managed to fit in a mammoth amount of fence judging as well as her chef duties! Good effort from all team members who helped with the duties required – it would be great if members who enjoy competing in team qualifiers would volunteer to do a partial duty at any qualifier in which they are not competing –then their competing days would be more relaxed!!  So well done FOTHERS and thanks for great team spirit!  Libby

Don’t forget there is dressage (test) training with Jo Glover on April 24th and show jumping training with Tyler on May 1st – contact Libby to book your place. It’s hard to prioritise spaces for members if we don’t hear from you til the last minute so the sooner you enquire the better!

SJ Training with Tyler – new date

Please note the show jumping training at Crossmere Farm with Tyler Cassells, originally planned for 30th April will now be held on 1st May, starting at 6pm – all other details remain the same.

Area 20 Combined Training Report – Well done ECCTG!

Intrepid four – Nikki Toomer, Lucy Filby, Sally Vickers and Juliet Foden set off into the mountains of Wales to compete in the Team Competition organised by Llandudno RC. The weather was surprisingly good considering all the rain we had during the previous days; so was the going.

Our Team won!

Thus qualifying for the Championships at Aston-Le-Wolds at the end of May.

Sally won the preliminary section with a good dressage and clear round; Juliet came fifth. Nikki was third in the novice section. The team was ably supported by Lucy who was unplaced.

Thanks to Libby who acted as chef d’equip and helper. Also many thanks to all those who came to cheer us on!

*** Show Jumping on Saturday CANCELLED ***

Unfortunately, the show jumping due to be held on Saturday April 5th has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Entries for show jumping on Saturday

Please note that due to the destructive tendencies of Jocelyn’s pony (!), she has been without her mobile phone since Friday – if you’ve made an entry between Friday and Monday to her mobile phone, please re-send your message to confirm it is in. She now has a temporary phone and is on the same number. Email entries and entries to her landline should have been received fine.
