Health and safety guidelines

Reasonable precautions will be taken at the event to ensure the health and safety of persons present. For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and officials.

You have a responsibility to others in ensuring that:

1        Your lorry/trailer is parked safely and where directed.

2        You abide by the rules in show grounds and stables.

3        You ride your horse in a safe manner and only in the designated areas.

4        You abide by ECCTG rules and standards of behaviour and dress.

5        You only use authorized access points and walkways.

6        You have third party liability insurance in the event of you or your horse being liable for any accident or damage while attending an ECCTG event.  Note that the recommended limit for such insurance is currently £20 million per incident. Club members who are up to date with their subscriptions are covered under the Club Membership of British Riding Clubs. Do not allow your subscription to lapse or you may not be covered. You must ensure that any guest you invite has similar insurance cover.

7        You obey all instructions from judges and stewards.

DISCLAIMER: NEITHER THE EAST CHESHIRE COMBINED TRAINING GROUP, ITS COMMITTEE MEMBERS NOR ANY PERSONS ACTING ON ITS BEHALF ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR ANYACCIDENT LOSS DAMAGE ILLNESS OR INJURY TO HORSES OWNERS RIDERS SPECTATORS OR ANY PERSONS OR PROPERTY WHATSOEVER FROM WHATEVER CAUSE.

Please Note
The committee think that it is strongly inadvisable to ride whilst wearing earrings (including sleepers) the reason being that in the past injuries have been caused following falls. There are vulnerable blood vessels behind the ear and, in addition, if the facial nerve is pierced, partial paralysis of the face can occur.
