**Reminder – Collecting Ring Etiquette**

Please take note of the points below whilst riding in collecting rings at ECCTG events. Please remember that collecting rings are used by a number of people at any one time, therefore safe and courteous riding is a must. ECCTG will not accept abuse of any kind, whether to horses or people.

*Pass left hand to left hand in collecting ring or school

*Do not block walk ways or entrances

*Slower paces should use inside track

*Do not hog or ride in front of practice fences

*Jump fences with red flag on right white on the left

*Do not shout or swear

*Be patient and ready on time

Thanks 🙂

**Important Message to Members**

Please can all competitors who wish to enter events/training please respect the organisers when entering! Please do not call/text/email after 9pm or before 9am. The organisers give up their time to run these events. so your cooperation would be appreciated.

Due to a number of people entering competitions and withdrawing at the last minute but not paying their entry fee, we have instated a policy on withdrawals. For dressage competitions, withdrawals must be made by the Wednesday prior or the full entry fee will be due.

Well done team ECCTG!

Well done to all those who braved the weather at Aston Le Walls last weekend and particularly well done to Hannah Leech and Welton Chillipepper who won their section at the National Horse Trials Championships!

Nicki Toomer, Hannah Leech, Jo Glover, Hannah Mulliner and Amy Lennon

BRC have already sent a lovely thank you note to our brilliant Chef D’Equipe and volunteer on the day, Lisa Deaville:

“On behalf of the Chairman and Committee of British Riding Clubs, may I take this opportunity to thank you for helping to officiate over the weekend? We are thrilled to have been able to successfully hold our Championships when so many other events have sadly been cancelled this season. Even the heavy rain showers did not dampen the Riding Club’s spirit, and we have already received some lovely feedback from our members who thoroughly enjoyed the weekend with us, and I hope your Club had a great time too. Please could you also pass on our thanks to anyone else from your Club who helped cover your volunteering slot on the day.

Thank you once again for supporting British Riding Clubs, and I very much look forward to seeing you again.”

Well done to all involved and watch this space for a full report of the weekend.

Good luck to our members at the National Horse Trials Championships!

The Olympic Eventing at Greenwich was very exciting (and enjoyed by many of our members in the beautiful park itself) but we all know the really important competition is the National Horse Trials Championships at Aston-Le-Walls this weekend! Sadly, the event has had to change to short format due to the weather but we’re sure it will be a fantastic weekend nonetheless. Good luck to all of our members (Jo Glover (twice!), Hannah Mulliner, Hannah Leech, Amy Lennon, and Nicki Toomer) who are competing.

Upcoming training

The next training opportunity coming up is Michael Owen – cross country/showjumping training at Arcid, July 27th
